Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Nouf Abdulrahman Jamsheer received the Regional Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for North Africa and the Middle East, H.E. Mr. Othman Belbeisi at LMRA’s headquarters.
The meeting was also attended by the IOM Director, General Senior Regional Advisor for MENA, Mr. Hassan Abdel Moneim Mostafa the Senior Regional Adviser for North Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf States and Mr. Mohamed El Zarkani, Chief of Mission for IOM in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two parties discussed ways to strengthen and develop relation between LMRA and IOM, exchange expertise in a manner that improves the work environment and preserves the rights of work parties, as well as reinforce and develop the role of the Regional Center of Excellence for Capacity Building of Combatting Trafficking in Persons.
LMRA CEO highlighted the efforts undertaken by LMRA in providing and preserving a safe work environment for employees and employers and its commitment to enhance efforts in combatting trafficking in persons and protecting workers from all forms of exploitation.
Jamsheer affirmed the role of the IOM in supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts in improving the work environment and building capacities in the field of Trafficking in persons.
