Geneva, June 11 (BNA): Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, H.E Mr. Jamal Abdulaziz AlAlawi, participated in the “World of Work Summit”, held on the sidelines of the International Labour Conference.
The Summit focused on the urgent actions that the International Labour Organisation (LMRA) and member states need to take in order to address issues that concern all parties, including governments, employers and workers, in light of the multiple crises facing the labour force.
LMRA chief said that the participants had focused on the challenge of maintaining opportunities and interest in human beings. They also followed up on the ILO’s Declaration on Social Justice for a Fair Globalisation, decent work, and the inclusion of safe and healthy working conditions within the framework of fundamental principles and rights at work.
AlAlawi stressed the importance of the kingdom’s participation in the Summit, as it provides a platform to highlight the achievements of the Bahraini labour market, contributing to preserving the rights of all parties during the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, he said that the kingdom had dedicated its efforts to confront the negative repercussions of the pandemic, in cooperation between the government and all production parties.
