Geneva – The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA)’s Advisor for Planning & Development, Mr. Duaij Khalifa Albinali met with the International Organization for Migration (IOM)’s Senior Regional Advisor for Middle East & North Africa, Mr. Othman Belbeisi, following LMRA’s participation in the 112th Session of IOM Council that took place in Geneva. The two parties discussed ways to further strengthen and develop the relation between the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in fields of mutual interest.
Several joint initiatives have been reviewed in the session, with the aim furthering the efforts taken to combat trafficking in persons, as well as IOM’s role in bolstering the Regional Center of Excellence for Capacity Building in the Field of Trafficking in Persons. The center which was recently launched by LMRA, in collaboration with the UN agencies that are concerned with combating trafficking and expatriate employees’ affairs.
