Manama, Apr. 29 (BNA): The Labour Inspection Directorate at the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has carried out, in cooperation with a number of government departments, a joint campaign on commercial registrations in the Capital Governorate to verify their compliance with the provisions of the LMRA Law, as well as health and municipal requirements.
LMRA’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Enforcement, Dr. Khalid Abdulrahman, said that LMRA will continue carrying out joint inspection campaigns out of its belief in the importance of cooperation with various government entities in addressing the phenomenon of illegal workers, as well as violations of the labour market and municipal and health requirements so as to maintain a work environment that enjoys a high degree of competitiveness and stability.
He indicated that the campaign, conducted on Wednesday in cooperation with the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry, Health Ministry and Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry, resulted in detecting a number of legal violations, and efforts are being made to refer them to the Public Prosecution.
He asserted that government departments work as a unified team in order to improve the work environment and create a labour market that enjoys a high degree of flexibility and efficiency, while protecting society from negative phenomena.
He added that the aim is to enable government departments to achieve their goals through concerted efforts by all the relevant parties by not dealing with illegal and violating workers, calling on the public to report violations of the labour market and irregular workers through contacting LMRA’s Call Centre 17506055.
