His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today visited the headquarters of the LMRA to emphasise the determination government entities must apply to driving forward standards of public services.

The Crown Prince praised the LMRA’s longstanding role in advancing Bahrain’s labour market, but stressed that these efforts must continue in order to further improve customer services.

The Crown Prince also highlighted that the Kingdom’s citizens are at the centre of all government developmental efforts, and that this principle should inform every step of Bahrain’s labour reforms to ensure Bahrain can become an international role model in labour market efficiency and effectiveness.

The Crown Prince went on to emphasise that continuing to enhance Bahrain’s labour market is a crucial part of meeting His Majesty’s aspirations to further improve citizens’ living standards and foster high-value opportunities for all.

Speaking about past efforts in this regard, the Crown Prince welcomed the establishment of various regulatory institutions, which work to ensure that the sector is governed and regulated under strict accordance with international standards and best practices.

The Crown Prince went on to note that the recent enactment of laws and regulations – purposely-designed to strengthen Bahrain’s economic environment – as well as the considerable increase in the number of commercial registrations through the Sijilat commercial registration portal, means that the LMRA must continually innovate its services as the country enters a new phase of private sector-led growth that provides increased entrepreneurial opportunities.

The Crown Prince highlighted that continued public sector, private sector and general workforce collaboration will underpin all aspects of delivering modern and dynamic services that can successfully meet customers’ needs.

The Crown Prince concluded by stressing that labour market development must continue in a manner that reduces the complexity of procedures, whilst ensuring that oversight and customer experience in public services are improved.

HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, accompanied the Crown Prince during the visit.
