Minister of Social Development Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh received here today Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA)’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons Ausamah Al-Absi.
They explored means of joint cooperation in the field of combating trafficking in persons, given the ministry of social development’s role in this field through Dar Al Aman and the Committee for Evaluating Victims of Human Trafficking.
They agreed on the necessity of establishing a shelter to rehabilitee the victims of trafficking and provide for them psychological, social, health and rehabilitation services.
This shelter aims to enhances Bahrain’s efforts in the field of combating trafficking in persons and supporting the victims of this crime.
The minister affirmed the ministry’s readiness to cooperate in order to finalise the procedures of registering the shelter and accelerate its inauguration by the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry Assistant Under-Secretary of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Badriya Al-Ajeeb, Assistant Under-Secretary for HR, Finance & IS Maha Al-Mandeel and Head of Public Relations and Media Randa Farouk.
