Bahrain Awareness Award praised

Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Chief Executive Officer Ausamah Al-Absi stressed the importance of the Bahrain Awards for Community Awareness (Bahrain Awareness Awards), which will be presented tomorrow (Sunday) to winners.The prize-distribution ceremony will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

“The Bahrain Award for Community Awareness (Human Too) was launched last December (2014) as part of the LMRA–led efforts to promote the relation bonding employers and workers”, Al-Absi said.

In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) he said that the award targets essentially people aged 16 to 26 years old to encourage them to enter the contest and contribute an artwork.

“The annual award was launched by LMRA under the theme; “Human Too” with the aim of projecting a positive and effective image that contributes to raising community awareness on the rights of workers”, he added.

Al-Absi said the first edition of the award (2014-2015) is being held under the theme “Commitment to Paying the Domestic Employees on time”,

He pointed out that HRH the Crown Prince would patronise the ceremony and present the awards to seven recipients who are declared winners by the jury, taking into account online votes.

He announced that the second edition of the award, which will be launched next autumn would be expanded to include contenders from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
