Authorities arrested 756 illegal expatriates during the period from January to November 7, said the Assistant Undersecretary for Exits, Search and Follow-up.The arrests were made in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Resident Affairs (NPRA) and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
“NPRA carried 43 campaigns this year that led to the arrest of 238 violators, while 89 joint campaigns were organised with the LMRA and resulted to the arrest of 518 violators,“ said the Undersecretary.
He said that the department is coordinating with the public prosecution and concerned courts to facilitate the deportation of illegal workers and legal procedures against them.
In addition, a recent inspection campaign led to the arrest of 42 violators, he added.
