Manama, June 10. (BNA) — Sri Lankan Ambassador to Bahrain R.K.M.A.Rajakaruna has lauded the regulations of the labour market in the kingdom, praising the outstanding efforts made by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
In this regard, he hailed the advanced system adopted by the LMRA in order to ensure the market’s stability and protect the rights of employers and employees.
This came as LMRA’s CEO Osama bin Abdulla Al Absi received here today the Sri Lankan Ambassador and briefed him on LMRA’s Reform Project and the executive steps taken so far to implement it, highlighting the licensing of expatriate workers and procedures to issue new permits.
He noted that the project aimed to protect the rights of expatriate workers and strike a balance between them and those of employers.
He also reviewed with him the conditions of Sri Lankan workers in Bahrain.
On his part, the Ambassador lauded the “extraordinary” care enjoyed by Sri Lankan workers, and affirmed that Bahrain has ensured them all their rights, pledging that the Embassy will spare no effort to cooperate with LMRA at all levels.
