MANAMA: Government ministers have been ordered to stamp out delays in projects designed to benefit the public. Holdups in national schemes were described as “unacceptable” yesterday by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.He made the comments as he met ministers and senior officials, who he urged to place an emphasis on finishing government projects on time, adding that failure to do so did not reflect government policy.
The Premier said citizens’ welfare and optimising services was a top priority and stressed the importance of listening to people’s complaints, including ministers – comments he reiterated during yesterday’s Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
He also urged authorities to speed up plans for the construction of a commercial complex in Busaiteen.
He said it would further develop the area and cater to the shopping and recreation needs of people in Muharraq.
He also gave instructions to speed up development of Muharraq Grand Park.
Procedures for bringing in foreign workers are being streamlined by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
The Premier ordered the LMRA to speed up the process and be more flexible in meeting the needs of businesses.
