MANAMA: A two-year plan is being drawn up to support Bahrain’s labour market.
The aim is to ensure stability in the country’s labour market, increase the number of jobs available and provide employers with a qualified workforce.Labour Minister and chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Jameel Humaidan yesterday ordered a committee in charge of preparing the plan for 2012-2014 to carry out a detailed study.
Once approved, it will be incorporated into all labour-related programmes and it is being drafted by the committee comprising representatives of the Labour Ministry, LMRA, the Education Ministry and Tamkeen, which met for the second time yesterday.
* The LMRA is preparing a proposal to reduce Bahrainisation ratio and allow more expatriate labour to join the workforce, LMRA chief executive Osama Al Absi was quoted as saying by our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
