CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Osama bin Abdullah Al-Absi, met today with the chairperson of the Migrant Workers’ Protection Society (MWPS), Marietta Diaz, and the society’s General Secretary, Beverley Hamadah.
The two sides discussed the situation of migrant workers in Bahrain, and means of cooperation to improve services that LMRA provide to them.
They talked about increasing awareness in migrant workers towards the LMRA regulations, their legal status, rights and duties, as well as expertise exchange in this field.
Mrs. Diaz praised the efforts of LMRA, and lauded its attention to migrant workers.
She also praised new rules and regulations adopted by LMRA, underlining the facilitation of expatriate labor applications which can be submitted online which ensures the rights of both expatriate employees and their employers. DH/IY
