Al Hilal Hospital has organized a free comprehensive check-up camp and health awareness talk for Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) staff to celebrate its Health Day. Committed to providing sound health care services to every segment of society, the hospital organised a special screening camp for diabetes, cholesterol, liver diseases, kidney disorders and hypertension.
A special talk on preventive measures for hypertension and diabetes among LMRA staff took place last Thursday and was provided by Al Hilal Hospital specialist internist Dr Jiju Jacob. There is a growing concern about the increasing number of cases of people suffering from these common problems also termed as silent killer diseases. Hundreds of staff participated in the programme and were screened to test the presence of these conditions.
Due to current lifestyles, growing stress and food habits, these ailments are often neglected and pose serious threat to an individual’s health.
“At Al Hilal we aim to create awareness on various health issues and make people aware of common ailments which are growing at an alarming rate,” said Al Hilal Hospital chief executive officer Dr Sai Giridhar. “We believe this exercise would present an opportunity to know the status of the staff’s well-being as well as to prevent future health problems.
“We are thankful to Al Hilal Hospital for this wonderful service given to the staff of LMRA to celebrate its Health Day,” said LMRA chief executive officer Ausamah Al Abssi
