Labour Market Regulatory Authority intends to re-launch its business to satisfy all clients’ needs and enhance its achievements, Labour Minister and LMRA president Jameel Humaidan said yesterday.This came as he met LMRA senior management in the presence of chief executive Osama bin Abdulla Al Isa.

Mr Humaidan said in the current new phase LMRA will focus on proposing new visions to cope with the challenges of reforming the labour market.

The meeting discussed a new plan for the next two years. LMRA is drafting it with a focus on priorities for future policies and programmes in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the government’s plan until 2014.

Mr Humaidan stressed the need to fulfil the leadership’s directives and redefine objectives of the labour reform project to meet market requirements.

He asked LMRA to strengthen its interaction with its market partners, carry out a comprehensive assessment of achievements and determine the obstacles and solve them.

Mr Humaidan also ordered a study of digital data and statistical indices monitored by LMRA to apply solutions.

Mr Al Isa said LMRA’s cadres were ready to contribute to the economy. He said LMRA had already begun laying down guidelines for its operations and improving services.

The chief executive said the authority will also focus on implementing schemes to create links between employees recruitment and training programmes, support establishments, update policies for better management of expatriate manpower and curb irregular workforce.
