The labour minister yesterday strongly condemned a recent incident in which protestors stormed the LMRA headquarters and verbally abused several staff members.

Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Dr. Majeed Al Alawi expressed full support for LMRA employees and their efforts to regulate the Kingdom’s job market and implement reforms.

Discussing the recent incident, the minister stated that such behaviour is not appropriate for businessmen, particularly as they may register their complaints through the legal channels and are guaranteed freedom of expression under Bahrain’s laws. 

The minister made these comments during a meeting yesterday with the LMRA’s outstanding committee.
