Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa affirmed yesterday during a meeting with the president of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry that the kingdom’s economic stability had not been affected by the world crisis.
Shaikh Khalifa said that the government was monitoring the world economic situation and was able to take appropriate decisions to come out with a new economic vision to help resolve any possible impact of the crisis.
He said that the decisions were being co-ordinated between the bcci, economic establishments and governmental bodies.
The Premier directed the Finance Ministry and Central Bank of Bahrain to meet financial institutions and banks and brief them on the procedures being taken by the government to deal with the impact of the crisis.
He also issued directives to undertake procedures to monitor and implement guidelines related to financial activities.
He said the guidelines could be reviewed if necessary.
Chairman Dr. Hisham Fakhro conveyed to the Premier deep respect of the chamber and the private sector for his initiatives to prevent any impact of the economic crisis on Bahrain and ensure its financial market stability.
Chamber’s first deputy chairman Ibrahim Zainal and board member Jawad Al Hawaj attended.
