MANAMA: Gold traders have urged the Labour Market Regulatory Authority to reduce the rate of Bahrainisation in their sector.
They also requested the LMRA to treat them on equal footing with construction sector, claiming Bahraini jobseekers were not interested in the gold trade.
Their grievances were voiced during a joint meeting between Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gold, Pearls and Jewellery Committee and the LMRA officials. Meanwhile, Bahrainis make up to 13pc of the workers in the remaining sectors, said a report in our sister news papaer Akhbar Al Khaleej.
